Here just locally we have lakes, mountains, and national forests with fishing, boating, swimming, picnicing, water sking, snow sking and boarding, snowmobiling, hunting, camping, RVing, hiking, golfing, bowling, motorcycle and four-wheeling, restaurants, gambling and a great buffet at the Chewelah Casino.
There are so many lakes in the Loon lake area that it would be difficult to name them all, the following are the closest lakes to the park.
The park is one mile north of Loon Lake and it's lake resorts and public boat launch and fishing area. Granite Point at Loon Lake has 1,000 feet of shore line, you can go for a real walk along the beach, they have shade trees, sand beaches with swimming areas, picnic tables, barbeques, boat slips, boat launching, boat rentals, docks, fishing, a store with drinks and food, and yearly passes.
Deer Lake is two miles from the park and has resorts and a public boat launch and fishing area. Deer Lake Resort has sand beaches, a huge grass lawn with shade trees right by the lake, boat launch, boat rentals, boat slips, swimming and fishing.
Jump Off Joe Lake is 7 miles north from the park, it is a small beautiful quiet lake with a 5 MPH speed limit, it has one resort with all the amenities and great shade trees, and the lake also has a public launch and fishing area. This can be a very nice lake to fish and it is open for fishing all year, including ice fishing.
Waitts Lake is 10 miles north and west from the park and has three nice resorts with with all of the amenities and everything you might need, two nice dinner restaurants open in the summer and it has a public launch and fishing area. This lake is definitely known for good fishing.
